08-13-2021 Dog Days of August

On a hot smoky morning, I thought I should document how it feels around here in late August. Going back over past photos, I see that I am not often inspired this time of year and trying to compare past years is difficult when I often skip taking yard and garden photos when things are so terribly hot and dry. Hottest July on record for the planet, triple digit days this month as well. Fires and smoke all over the country and we are getting California smoke as usual, this time from a record setting Dixie fire. The well is holding up OK after some low times in late June and early July. We have learned to manage the water more carefully than ever and the grass is still green.
