09-28-2021 Canyonlands Island in the Sky

We left camp at 7:30 to hopefully arrive at the Canyonlands Needles District entry station before the lines became too long. Only 2 cars before us, but the parking lot for Mesa Arch was already full. Lucky for us, my handicap sticker once again saved the day with a parking slot for those with the sticker. We hiked to the arch and go some classic photos, although it was already too late in the morning for the iconic orange light from sunrise on the underside of the arch. We continued to the Grand View Scenic viewpoint and again found a parking slot in an overfull parking lot. After Grand View we traveled to the Upheaval Dome, Green River Overlook, and Shafer Canyon overlooks. After seeing as much of Canyonlands as we could without a lot more hiking, we drove the road to Dead Horse Canyon State Park. There a kind person took a great photo of the four of us that was a good shot for the culmination of our shared trip to Canyon Country
